Megan Ehlers, DVM, contacted Eleanor to design her new brand identity.
Our first step was to get to know Dr. Ehlers and create a name that represented her new practice. After presenting multiple name options, she decided on Ehlers Animal Care. This name embraces the Ehlers family, but most importantly, it emphasizes that she is dedicated to caring for pets and their owners by providing exceptional veterinary services. Specifically, we emphasized care in the name, not clinic.
For the logo, we wanted to visually articulate Dr. Ehlers’ relationship with pets and their owners. To achieve this, we designed the letter ‘e’ in combination with the tail of an animal. The tail is one of the most universal traits we found among the type of animals Dr. Ehlers treats. Also, the tail can be an indicator of an animal’s mood. The combination of the first initial in her last name along with the tail of an animal symbolizes Dr. Ehlers’ dedication to fostering pet relationships.
In a way that is fun and lighthearted, the Ehlers brand welcomes visitors – both human and pet alike – to a practice dedicated to quality and attentive veterinary care. With a mark that is recognizable and unmatched by any in the Lincoln market, Ehlers is clearly differentiated from other veterinary practices. The logo design is flexible in use, making it easy to implement in a variety of ways, from water bottles and business cards to the internal environment of the practice.
