Brad Johnson: A Leader Who Serves With Heart
At Eleanor Creative, we believe the best partnerships are built on relationships—relationships with people who care deeply about what they do, the people they serve, and the communities they call home.
That’s why we’re excited to celebrate our client and friend, Brad Johnson, Director of the Lancaster County Department of Corrections, on being named the 2026 Here’s to the Heroes Award recipient by Roper & Sons Funeral Home! The annual award recognizes local individuals who demonstrate extraordinary dedication, service, and compassion in their work and communities.
As a creative partner to both Roper & Sons and Lancaster County Department of Corrections (and the team behind Hub & Soul), we’re lucky to work alongside organizations and leaders who are making a difference in our community. While Roper & Sons selects the recipients of the award, it was especially meaningful to see someone we know and admire recognized among this year’s honorees.
A Career Built on Service
Brad’s commitment to serving Lancaster County began in 1992, when he joined the Department of Corrections. More than 30 years later, he has grown from a correctional officer to a director while staying true to the values that have guided his career since the beginning.
What stands out most about Brad’s leadership is the way he cares for people. He understands that every person and every role matters, taking time to support his team through challenges, celebrate their accomplishments, and help others grow.
That genuine care and humility have earned him the respect of those who work alongside him and the trust of the community he serves.
Leadership that Makes a Difference
During Brad’s time as director, the Lancaster County Department of Corrections has continued to evolve through stronger training, enhanced safety measures, expanded rehabilitation efforts, and a commitment to innovation.
But beyond those accomplishments, Brad’s greatest impact can be seen in the culture he has helped create—a place where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to do their best work.
His leadership is a reminder that the strongest leaders aren’t just defined by what they accomplish, but by the people they inspire along the way.
Connected Through Community
At Eleanor, we have the privilege of partnering with organizations and leaders who are helping make our communities stronger. Brad is a perfect example of the kind of person we’re proud to work alongside—someone who leads with integrity, serves with compassion, and always puts people first.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Lancaster County Department of Corrections, support Roper & Sons’ mission, and help celebrate the incredible individuals who make our community a better place through Hub & Soul.
Congratulations, Brad, on this well-deserved recognition. We’re honored to celebrate this achievement with you.
